Well, I went to Santa Cruz Bicycle’s garage sale yesterday, and this is one of the things that I ended up with.

I just finished another good ride from home with the wife. We rode along the Los Gatos Creek trail, taking some of the singletrack that runs along there. We actually rode it at a pretty good clip.
We ended riding up to the top of St. Joseph’s hill. My wife pedaled up the 34lb Nomad - she’s actually getting pretty good at it, and I’m a proud husband. It’s slightly heavier because she had me put flat pedals on it.
At the end of the ride, we had logged 23 miles. Another good day of riding.

Well I just got back from a fun ride with O’L.D. and UB. We rode up in Alum Rock park. LD was the leader of this particular ride. We went through the park, climbed up the road, then climbed up Peacock. Then dropped down the usual way that we typically climb, then we climbed up to where the bottom of peacock was, and then dropped down some more fun single track that I had never been on before.
We then climbed back up the reverse Todd L. and dropped back down to finish the ride.

After riding with the wife yesterday, I thought I’d make it two days of pedaling. I’d probably be sitting at home and eating anyways, if I wasn’t outside riding.
So I left out the front door and rode the the creek trail again. What I’m starting to realize is that there are some people who are really, really oblivious to their surroundings, but that’s probably a different story, so I’ll leave it out of this report.
I got past Vasona park when I jumped onto the road, specifically, I got onto Blossom Hill road, then made a right on Bascom, actually, at this point, I guess it turns into Main Street. I turned left up Shannon Road, and started the climb. I had done this on the Blur a couple of weeks ago, in about 16 minutes. Today, I had cut that down to 12. I headed down Shannon, and then turned back up Kennedy, wow, climbing sux.
I then road all the way down to University Ave in Los Gatos, and road back down that towards Campbell. It eventually turns into Winchester. I found that it was much faster to ride this way, than to ride on the trail. Another good day of riding, I turned in 24 miles.

Originally, we had planned on riding on sunday, however, I asked her to switch the ride to today instead. So again, today, I rode with my wife. It was actually pretty nice.
Once again, we rode from the front door. Riding down the Los Gatos Creek trail, and riding along the singletrack. To my surprise, my wife is actually pretty nimble on this. Though not too fast, we did good. We rode up to the Lexington Reservior.
Last week, we didn’t make it to the top of the hill, today, it was our (my) goal to get to the top, since we had a little bit more time. We did get to the top, although I stopped and hiked a bike with her a few times, it was nice to get her riding and get her to the top of the hill.
At the end of the ride, we logged 24 miles. I guess that’s pretty good, between two rides, I’ve put her on clost to 50 miles.

UB and I rode in the park today. We took the usual route into the park and climbed up Corothers. As we were focused on climbing up the road, we noticed that there was a snake on the side of the road. Low and behold, it was another rattlesnake. Well I have an actual camera this time around, so we stopped and I snapped another photo.
We then enjoyed the rest of the ride, riding down Peacock and through the back of the park. Climbing up to the benches, coming down Todd L. We also made a detour up to Eagle Rock, before heading home. We ran into a friend of Eric’s, Kevin and chatted a little while, and then the ride was done. It was a good work out.

Mmmm coffee. The ride started like this, I YI YI YI YI! The dog from hell across the street got a brand new shock callar that works very well, the poor thing took off running while BBQ him self around the hood. You had to be there. Ginder, Slacker and I,and no pink bag, headed out around 18:00 as planned. Up into the park we went.
pretty much the same ride that I do all the time plus maybe one new trail thrown in for Slacker, that boy flys up the trail head! Nice pace for me but the others seemed to find alot of break time at the top of the hills. Back down the hill we went to the Grinding Pad for a few, yes a few cold ones. Hey was that Soncho? I I I YI YI YI! Great ride, just about a half of what UB did on Sunday. Just kidding I was on this on, just under 10. Peace.

Grinder, LD, and I went out for a ride in the park tonight. The ride was pretty good, we ended doing some loops in the park. I got to see some new trails in the park that I hadn’t seen before, so this was excited. We ended up at the benches as usual. However, I believe what was more interesting was the entertainment LD and I received from his neighbor trying to set up a virtual fence for his puppy.

Yesterday, our own Mr. & Mrs. UB did the Livestrong ride, put on by 7 time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong. Eric did 100 miles, while Kristine did 50. Just wanted to make mention of this ride as Eric is a survivor himself.
They were both mentioned in the San Jose Mercury.
